121K chargers for XBOX video game controllers recalled for burn hazard

By Colleen Kave, J.D.

An additional 7,250 Smart Chargers were sold in Canada and 2,560 in Mexico (CPSC Recall Notice, No. 17-109, March 14, 2017).

Incidents and injuries. The company has received 24 reports of the chargers overheating and deforming the charger’s plastic cover, including 6 reports of chargers emitting a burning odor. No injuries have been reported.
